Puppy mills are a huge problem, They are businesses where dogs are bred for money with little or no concern for the adult dogs or puppies that they sell and/or breed. Their only concern is money. Their goal is to produce frequent litters with little regard for genetic problems that can occur due to over breeding. Unaware buyers often get sick or in-bred puppies that were sold from puppy mills.
Margo Mayberry is an advocate and author who represents Ohio Puppy Rescue. She will be our guest speaker and will share the story of “Mimi”and other rescued puppies. You will have the opportunity to meet Mimi and to purchase Margo’s books. All proceeds from book sales will go to help pay for Ohio Puppy Rescue projects.
Lunch will be right there at the Golden Corral. The Golden Corral is an American family-style restaurant that features a large buffet and offersnumerous hot and cold items.

Who knew??? Human trafficking is not only a big problem in our country but also right here in our own city. Here in Central Ohio women and children are for sale–walking the streets stalked by pimps and dopeboys, beaten, bruised and addicted to drugs, or on photos on the Internet, bound, gagged, naked and raped. The response for many years is to arrest these ladies and treat them as criminals rather than victims of an oppressed victimizer. We are having two guest speakers whose missionsare to make a positive difference in the lives affectedby this horrible condition.
Our first speaker will be Julie Clark of DOMA International. Their Bloom! program helps ladies
move from victims to survivors. Their Project Green
Light aids schools in incorporating Anti-Human
Trafficking into their school curriculums.
After lunch our speaker will be Cathy Treyens of
Gracehaven. The mission of Gracehaven is to find
and to free underage girls enslaved by child sex
trafficking. Members of the Gracehaven staff have
been actively involved in, among other things,
educating front line professionals likely to encounter
victims of human trafficking including educators.
Because of your dedication to the youth of our
community while you were teaching, we are sure you
will want to join us for this interesting and alarming
topic.

Born out of a craftsman’s garage, Phoenix Bat
Company now produces state of the art, custom
bats. In 2000 they became a pro-approved wood
bat manufacturer. All bats are made on site with
premium grade woods, on the most advanced
machine used by any manufacturer and in just two
minutes!
The company started as a vintage baseball bat
maker for players who play by 1860’s rules (no
glove worn!). They now craft bats for baseball and
softball players of all ages, as well as award bats.
Their bats are used by many pro baseball players
including Billy Butler, star hitter for the Royals. Pro
players report that they prefer Phonenix Bats for
their tremendous pop and power.
The company also provides a batting cage where
buyers can try out their many types of bats. We are
sure you will find this tour interesting and you will
leave with a CEA-R custom-engraved mini bat
souvenir.
From there we will go to the well-known Der
Dutchman Restaurant for a lunch buffet. While
there you may want to take home some delicious
treats from the Der Dutchman Bakery or visit
