Wellington School Invention Convention
"Dear Past and Present Educators,
I am seeking assistance to help judge our wonderful inventions at the 2012 Wellington School Invention Convention on Thursday, March 8. Wellington School is located at 3650 Reed Road, Columbus, OH 43220, and the event will be in the new Middle School Commons. When you enter the building and sign in at the registration desk, the person at the desk will give you directions to find us.
We have over 100 inventors participating this year, and I have overheard them discussing some very innovative ideas.
Please check the following schedule for our 2012 Invention Convention and check your calendar to see what works best for you to help us with the judging. The goal is to have each student judged by three different judges. Each judge will have five students to interview and evaluate during a 35-minute time period. You should arrive about 15 minutes before your first scheduled judging time, so you can review a sheet of instructions that will assist you with the process and give you the criteria.
The Wellington School Invention Convention Schedule: ·
- 9:00 – 9:35 – Second Grade (25 inventors) – 15 judges needed
- 9:35 – 10:10 – Kindergarten (10 inventors) – 6 judges needed
- 10:10 – 10:45 – Mrs. Ivy’s Fourth Grade (21 inventors) – 13 judges needed
- Our excellent lunch will be provided from 10:50 to 11:30 for judges.
- 11:35 – 12:10 – Third Grade (20 inventors) – 12 judges needed
- 12:10 – 12:45 – First Grade (12 inventors) – 7 judges needed
- 12:45 – 1:20 – Mrs. Foster’s Fourth Grade (21 inventors) – 13 judges needed
- 1:20 – 1:55 – Fifth Grade (5 inventors) – 3 judges needed (during their 6th period)
I hope you might be able to judge our student inventors during one or more of these time periods. Please reply to my school email, henschen@wellington.org, or my personal email, dhenschen@msn.com, letting me know if and when you could judge on Thursday, 3/8/12.

K-8 Certified Math/Science Teachers Wanted
We are currently seeking a certified teacher to teach our Math and Science Workshops that we offer to schools as daytime field trips.
Retired teachers who are still certified K-8 would be a great fit.
